In our opinion ( Please trust us. The team of SantoriniHolidays.Com has lived on this island for 15 years ) you should stay either in Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, or OIA That's where the center and the views are. If you are looking for great beaches this is the wrong island. Try Mykonos instead. If you MUST be on the beach, Kamari is probably best. Kamari and especially The Boathouse Hotel is great if you have young children. Perivolos used to be secluded and great but no more. Perissa is backpackers delight. There are thousands of places where you could stay, however what's listed below will almost certainly provide you with an unforgettable experience. The key to obtaining a good room & rate is to book well in advance!
Last minute bookings don't work to your advantage here. With frequent, albeit expensive flights, and hispeed hydrophoils, Santorini has become an Athenian or Cretan "suburb" We strongly recommend to avoid the August 1 - August 20 period.
Too much commotion and noise, full of Greek and Italian teenagers, horrible service,
sardine factory buses, higher prices, traffic, very crowded beaches ...
